The CD-drive, the heart of a CD-player, is equipped with a highly-durable tray-type drive by TASCAM, tuned specifically for the CD-5010B.
The open/close and disc loading movements have been tuned to have rapid response times in order to perfect operational efficiency.
By installing the same drive as the high-end model CD-9010CF/CD-9010, a high level of durability and operational efficiency was also achieved with the CD-6010.

Sound quality playback of the CD-6010 also meets the demands of broadcasting settings with high demands in terms of the sound quality.
Every single part used has undergone numerous listening tests at TASCAM acoustic evaluation facilities, resulting in the selection of superior parts.
For the DAC, Asahi Kasei Electronics-manufactured AK4480 D/A converters have been employed, with a JRC NJM5532 employed for the operational amplifiers. In addition, these parts have been installed as part of a circuit design that balances operational efficiency and high sound quality.
The power supply unit also employs a unit equivalent to that of the CD-9010CF/CD-9010.

A feature of the CD-6010 is its usability supportive of various settings.
The remote controller is not only compatible with a regular spec controller, but also compatible with the RC-SS20 and the RC-20, and is equipped with a D-sub 9 pin, RS-232C serial control terminal, and D-sub 25 pin parallel control terminal, allowing various external controls. In terms of functionality, a CD flash start playback can be performed using the main device’s number keys.
